Since we knew we were coming to Colorado, last fall we contacted one of our best friends (Andrew Brown) to see if we could meet up while we were here.
Andrew, like he does, completely blew us out of the water and prepared 30 of the BEST hours we have ever experienced. I know that I blogged a few days ago about how furlough is not vacation. These 30 hours were the exception. Below is a short photo essay of our time together.
Above the clouds. This stunning view flying to Colorado was just the very beginning of the "eye candy" we'd see..
Andrew rented this TOTALLY amazing house in Leadville, CO for the night. It was a perfect spot to enjoy the views and relax.
He then surprised us with a short road trip to Keystone resort where he had an amazing dining experience planned.
We then mounted the gondola and arrived at the highest AAA Four-Diamond Diamond experience in North America, The Alpenglow Stube. It was a beautiful restaurant at an elevation of 11,444. We had a lovely 4 course meal, interrupted only briefly by my vomiting from altitude sickness.
Then headed to the store to buy some stuff to make breakfast. Nick could hardly contain himself with the huge Tampico display, but we managed to draw him away with promises of french toast and sausage.
