Josiah and solid foods

So we've decided to start Josiah on some solids. I have given him rice cereal a few times, which he meets with much drama and gagging. So all along, I have been thinking that maybe he's just not ready for solids. Then today a little lightbulb went off in my head-- maybe he just doesn't like rice cereal. (I mean really, who would?) So today I tried some sweet potatoes, which he ate eagerly...

However, I am pretty sure he's going to prefer meat... :)

Meat? Maybe...but I'm picking up a desire for toe-fu.

Disregard the comment about tofou...we like Josiah! That's so kool about Josiah...he's such a big boy!
Riann was a weird baby too. She didn't like rice cereal, mashed potatoes, or oatmeal. All beginning solid foods. And she doesn't look like she starved! Love and miss you all!

i'm with ya...Caleb skipped rice cereal too and went straight to pears. The doc didn't like the idea (they have to go by "the book" it seems to avoid getting sued) but pears are a very low-allergy food and Caleb went for them right away! After introducing a few of those mild but sweet fruits, then I had something tasty to mix in with that bland oatmeal :)

Too cute! Many physicians will now encourage fruits and veggies first as they have a much lower incidence of allergies associated with them.
